30 weeks and counting!

I am so glad to be on vacay! Finally a little time off from work. People keep asking me where we are going when I say I am going on vacay and they laugh when I say to my bed! I have been so tired here recently a week off from work to catch up on sleep and tv seem like a great vacation to me! I went for my 30 week appt on Wednesday and everything just seemed to go wrong. My blood pressure was up in the office and bed rest was mentioned. I have been contracting so I got my first exam and I had an ultrasound to check my fluid level and baby weight. Thankfully my cervix is still closed and my fluid level is great. Baby Bronner weighed in at 3lbs 11 oz which is the 50something %. He is getting so big!! My doctor and I agreed that I would work Wed night on the condition that I monitored my bp all weekend and called her with my bp log on Monday morning with her then making the decision if I needed to come in that afternoon. I have been checking it since Wednesday and it has been great. So hopefully the checks in the office were elevated due to anxiety/nervousness and it will be ok until the end. Not that bed rest is the end of the world as she told me but I would love to use my time off with the baby and not use it all up before he gets here. But I will do whatever for a healthy baby boy! So just pray that it stays ok and I can continue to work and be preggo until term! On the more exciting things, Uncle Jason turns 30 this weekend! We can't wait to celebrate! YAY! Mom and Dad are also back in Houston with power and water and minimal damage to the house. Thanks for your prayers! Hope you have a wonderful day!
*** We are also looking into buying a new camera in the coming weeks so if you have any suggestions let me know! Right now we are leaning toward a Nikon SLR. ***

Moving on up to the 30's!

Well kumquat is officially 30 weeks and 1 day in 15 mins! YAY for a sucessful and easy pregnancy so far. The nursery is complete and he has clothes to wear so now we are just in wait and grow mode! I can't wait to meet him but want him to grow for 8 or so more weeks more than anything else. People keep telling me I am going to be miserable soon so pray that does not happen! So far we are doing wonderful! Next weekend is Uncle Jason's big 30th bday so we will be celebrating all weekend long! After that comes a week off for me and then working the weekend. Both of our baby showers are the first weekend in Oct making us 33 weeks. When you look at it that way, time is going to fly bye! I can't wait to see all the things little man is going to get! We are really excited about celebrating with our families!

On another note my mom and dad evacuted from Houston on Thurs and have yet to return to their house. So please pray it is in good condition, as they bought it not long ago, and nothing is majorly wrong! We are hoping they will make it back to Birmingham in time for Bronner's birth but since I really don't want to be induced we will see what happens. I really want to labor spontaneously if at all possible and just **see** how far a long I can get. I am in no way opposed to getting an epidural but since it is my job to labor with people I believe I should just see how far I personally can go. Now there are many things that could change this plan and in no way am I against being induced if it is for the health of momma or baby or he doesn't come out at his due date (or momma's doctor isnt available to come in, only since I work with these people ... I mean you wouldn't want just anyone looking at your wooha that you had to work with daily would you?!). So please pray in these last weeks that I will be open to God's plan for our labor and delivery and not be stuck on my own! I have an appt on Wed so I will update then with anything new. Hopefully he will be growing appropriately! Hope you have a great week!

Finally finished

Well yesterday was my last monthly appt and now we are moving on up to every 2 weeks! I am kinda excited since that means we are making forward progress in the pregnancy but since it is going to be so often I am going to try going before work. We will see how it goes! Kumquat was doing good, very active and measuring right on track. Of course since I haven't really been gaining any weight I was a little shocked to see that I had doubled ... yep that is right doubled my weight gain. Oh well ... I feel better and am actually enjoying food again! Jerms and I finished the painting on Sunday night and then we started working on putting the furniture together last night. Well we ended up really getting into it and finished the project today so Bronner's room is officially done! We have to get a mattress soon so it can all be put together with bedding and such but overall it looks great! I am so impressed with Jerms handyman skills!! (And we got done in time to PPV the Alabama game all while I was on call from work!) Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Bronners Room

Well we are finally at week 28! Since we are getting so far along in our pregnancy Jeremy and I finally got around to moving all of the office / computer stuff into our room and making room for baby! We moved everything on Saturday afternoon and taped up the trim to be painted. All done in time for the Alabama game of course. We enjoyed the first game of the season and actually had a really relaxing Saturday at home to hang out together. The first in a long time and much needed! Today, after church and mexican, we got the painting process started! Jerms actually helped me with the top parts so I wouldn't have to get on the the ladder and we got it done in about 3 hours! It actually turned out a little darker than we thought which is perfect because Jeremy was worried it was going to be too bright. So the first part of the nursery project is done. Jeremy now has to measure, buy the chair rail, cut it, and hang it! Hopefully he will get that done sometime this week or next weekend and then the following weekend I can paint the stripes. The goal is to be done with furniture set up by the last weekend in Sept!

I have my 28 week check up on Friday and can't wait to hear kumquat. I think that he is laying transverse or sideways as of this morning. Hopefully he will move back to the head down position soon because this isn't comfortable for me! After this appt I will start going every 2 weeks. I can't believe that it is that time already. It is flying bye!

Almost to Trimester #3!!

SO officially I will be in trimester number 3 on SAT! Yay! 27 weeks starts your third trimester and I can't wait. I will post new pics sometime this weekend but the belly is finally starting to show a little bit. Only 4 or 5 people have actually noticed that don't know so we will see how long it stays that way. I mean in a way it is nice to still be comfortable and loving being preggo but on the other hand it would be nice for people the be able to see the bump! Like the other day for instance at 25 and a half weeks I went shopping for baby boy and was checking out and the lady said "who are you shopping for today? a gift?" I was like no the one in here and pointed to my belly and she was like are you serious your that preggo (after I told her how far along I was). I just had to nod my head and thank her for the "compliment". Everyone keeps telling me it will come so we will see!!! Well the plans for the weekend include registering at babies r us with mom and cait and then a consignment sale which I am so excited about. Sat my whole fam is coming over for the day to visit and then Sun we are planning to go to MS for my brother in law ordainment! Hopefully everything will go as planned! Two more weeks until my next appt to check on kumquat and then I start going every 2 weeks. I can't believe how fast this is going bye! It is going to be holiday time before we know it!

Glucose Test

So I went this morning to check on kumquat and take my glucose test. It wasn't all that bad but it did make me feel like I was going to pass out. I guess to much sugar in to little time. Especially since I am not eating much these days. I made it through though and my glucose level was well in the normal range! I am so excited about that as it mean I can continue eating my beloved carbs and occasional sugary treat like that great american cookie cake I have been craving for weeks and still haven't gone to get! Kumquat was measuring 25 weeks and his heart rate was great. He was moving so much when she was listening to him! I guess he got a little hyper after all that sugar intake!

We are planning on going to the pool and being lazy this weekend! We need to stay home and paint the nursery but I guess it will get done sometime. We bought and have received all our baby furniture and bedding. Last night we went to Lowe's and bought paint to match so hopefully one weekend soon we can start working on that! I can't wait for yall to see!

*** check back to the it's a boy post ... I added new pics ***

24 weeks and counting!

Sorry for not updating last week, things around here have been hectic! We officially are 24 weeks as of yesterday! I am overwhelmed with thanksgiving, relief, and joy! I know most of yall don't really think about it but it is so amazing to actually know that kumquat could live outside of me at this point (not that we want him to in the least bit!). He is weighing in a little over a pound right now! His central nervous system still has a lot of development to do and he needs to grow!! Hopefully he is stay nice and warm for another 14-16 weeks or so! We also bought baby bedding, a crib, dresser, and rocking chair this week! The furniture, except the rocking chair, was delivered on Friday. Everything else should be here sometime Monday. I can't wait to put it all together and see it but Jerms said that we need to paint and all that first. I mean I guess that makes sense but I really want to see it! Dyana and I opened the box just to see the color and it is so pretty! I can't wait! We are talking about painting (well I am talking about it since Jerms is anti painting) this coming weekend. We don't know our plans yet but if we end up staying home then I am going to at least try and paint the base color. Jerms is going to put up a chair rail (thanks Leigh for the idea) and then we (or I) and going to paint vertical stripes on the bottom to match the bedding. Our bedding is on our registry at Babies R US, called Giggles. It is super cute and gender neutral as we plan on this being the nursery and kumquat graduating to the guest room in a few years! I have also been clothes shopping this weekend ... it was tax free and all! Let me just say that I am thankful that I am having a boy! There are way to many cute girls clothes out there. I would be broke. Now granted I HATE shopping for myself but for some reason shopping for kumquat is becoming addicting!
We travelled to Nashville for a quick weekend getaway yesterday. We left Sat morning and came home late this afternoon. We had a blast and it was nice to getaway one more time! Dyana and Jason came over on Friday night and we ate at The Melting Pot. OMG it was good! I loved it ... especially the flaming turtle chocolate fondue! I would definitely recommend this restaurant but bring some money! It is expensive! We stayed at the Opryland Hotel and it is incredible. It was amazing how you could be "outside" in a garden but you were still actually inside and it was air conditioned ... great for a preggo! Lauren's wedding was the real reason that we made the trip and it was gorgeous as expected! She was stunning! And of course I was crying as her sweet daddy gave her away! What a blessing marriage is.
Well I think that is all for tonight. Friday is the next appt to check on kumquat and check for gestational diabetes. Please pray that my sugar test goes well. I don't think I would be able to follow the diet very well and I don't want to be a non complaint patient! Also pray that kumquat is growing as expected and his heart rate is great! I will update following the appt! I hope yall have a great week!
